A Word of Catution to F/OSS Advocates

This isn’t the way to do things.   A proper application of the principles of free/open source software leads one not to advocating that the state adopt open-source technology; it leads to anarchism and participatory democracy.  Why would you just apply those principles to software, and not to your everyday lives?  In fact, why would you want the state, the very embodiment of monopoly, to adopt F/OSS?  All that can come of this is for the open-source movement to be co-opted by the state, which is a perversion that you really don’t want to happen.
